ResEdit is a great utility for editing icons. Be carefull though. It's not just an Icon Editor. It has the ability to hack all the resources in a file. For advanced tips in using ResEdit, check out http://www.resexcellence.com.

IconDropper is a nifty little shareware program made by The Iconfactory which allows you to save space in your icon collection by placing them into packs. You'll see that this site supports the packs. I think it's fun, and well worth the registration!
